It will be partly cloudy in the extreme east.</p><p>The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southeasterly.</p><p>Western Cape:</p><p>Partly cloudy in the south-west and along the south coast, otherwise cool to cold. Picture: Ronny Hartmann / AFP.</p> </p><p> </p> <p> <p>Marc Marquez won a bruising German MotoGP on Sunday to mark his 200th premier class start in style and stretch his lead in the world championship.</p><p>His brother Alex Marquez took second with Francesco Bagnaia third as only 10 riders finished, the lowest number completing a MotoGP since 2011.</p><p>While the rest of the grid struggled to remain on their bikes at this notoriously tricky Sachsenring track, Marc Marquez enjoyed a dream afternoon.</p><p>Setting off from pole he was never challenged, crossing the line over six seconds clear for his seventh perfect weekend of 2025 having also won Saturday’s sprint.</p><p>At the midway stage of the 22-race campaign Marquez leads brother Alex by 83 points in the riders’ standings, with his Ducati factory teammate Bagnaia a yawning 147 off the lead.</p><p> <p> <p> <p> Read more </p> Marc Marquez takes seventh pole of season at German MotoGP </p> </p> </p><p>“My confidence is super high now coming here withthree wins in a row and now it’s four,” beamed Marquez.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>“I have to be really concentrated for the second half of the season,” he added.</p><p>His younger sibling was competing despite fracturing his left hand at the Dutch MotoGP a fortnight ago.</p><p>“It’s unbelievable, thanks to the doctors and everyone that I’m here,” he said after his 100th MotoGP start.</p><p>For Marquez this was his seventh race win of the year and fourth on the trot as he tightens his grip on a seventh MotoGP world title – and first since 2019 – to draw level with the legendary Valentino Rossi.</p><p> </p>Attritional <p>Despite sunshine taking over from Saturday’s rain, the race proved one of the most attritional in years with eight riders crashing and two unable to take part after coming a cropper on Saturday.</p><p>The last time only 10 riders completed a MotoGP was in Australia, 14 years ago.</p><p>Pole-sitter Marquez enjoyed an electric getaway from the front of the grid, in contrast to 24 hours earlier.</p><p>Then, a first turn mistake had dropped him down the pack, and it wasn’t until his last lap overtake of Marco Bezzecchi that he wrapped up his 10th sprint out of 11.</p><p> </p><p>On a dry track, Marquez quickly pulled clear of the chasing pack led by Fabio Di Giannantonio, who had set a new lap record in practice on Friday.</p><p>With Marquez set fair for another demolition job – he’d pulled almost two seconds clear by lap 10 of 30 – his main danger was maintaining focus and concentration around the ultra-demanding circuit with its short straights and tight bends in the former East Germany.</p><p>Others were not enjoying their afternoon at one of the toughest venues on the calendar quite so much – notably Pedro Acosta and Miguel Oliveira who both crashed out.</p><p>On lap 18 Di Giannantonio and Johann Zarco also hit the deck independently at turn one.</p><p> </p><p>That left Bezzecchi’s Aprilia chasing Marquez, a distant four-and-a-half seconds up the road.</p><p>But that situation only lasted until the following lap when Bezzecchi became the latest victim of turn one.</p><p>The DNF tally swelled even further with the exits of Lorenzo Savadori, Ai Ogura and former champion Joan Mir.</p><p>Two riders unable to line up on Sunday were KTM-Tech 3 duo Maverick Vinales, out with a fractured shoulder after a heavy fall in qualifying, and his appendicitics-hit teammate Enea Bastianini.</p><p> </p><p>Also missing was Franco Morbidelli after his bone-crunching crash in Saturday’s sprint.</p><p>The MotoGP season moves on to Czechia next Sunday where all eyes will be on defending champion Jorge Martin.</p><p>The luckless Spaniard has not finished a race this season after a series of heavy crashes, but has set his sights on Brno for his return to action.</p> </p> <p> Read more on these topics MotoGP </p> Marc Marquez dominates bruising German MotoGP \| The Citizen	查看 4456	《公民报》	2025-07-13 22:37:17 2025-07-14 02:14:18	word

I am appalled by how I behaved, and I take full accountability,” she said.</p><p>She apologised to the affected cast members and said she had reached out to them both publicly and privately.</p><p>“I’ve also taken time to engage with Gagasi FM management regarding the negative attention my participation in the show has brought to the station. While my work on radio and my presence on the show are two separate platforms, both Gagasi FM and I agree that it is important I take accountability.”</p><p> </p><p>Gagasi FM has also released a statement in response to Ntuli’s altercation on The Real Housewives of Durban.</p><p>“While the show is independent from Gagasi FM, we acknowledge that Minnie’s conduct has had an impact on both our brand and the community we serve,” the station said.</p><p>Gagasi FM added that Ntuli has shown remorse, issued an apology to the production company and cast members, and is committed to receiving professional support to manage her emotional responses.</p><p>“As a station, we are committed to supporting a process that encourages healing, forgiveness, and mutual respect. To address these allegations and the implications of these allegations, I’m establishing a judicial commission of inquiry that will be chaired by acting deputy chief justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga,” said Ramaphosa.</p><p>Cachalia is a professor of law at the University of the Witwatersrand and is the chairperson of the National Anti-Corruption Advisory Council. He previously served as the MEC of Community Safety in Gauteng.</p>Explosive allegations by Mkhwanazi<p>Ramaphosa took this action after KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi last week alleged that Mchunu interfered in police investigations. Picture: Gallo Images</p> </p><p> </p> <p> <p>Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has accepted President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to place him on a leave of absence following explosive allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.</p><p>Ramaphosa announced on Sunday evening that a judicial commission of inquiry will probe claims that organised crime syndicates have infiltrated law enforcement and intelligence agencies—accusations that directly implicate senior political figures, including Mchunu.</p><p>“I welcome and respect the President’s decision and pledge my commitment to the process,” said Mchunu.</p><p>“Honour and integrity are the virtues I personally subscribe to… I stand ready to respond to the accusations against me and account to the citizens of the Republic, fully and honestly so.”</p>Grave allegations’ prompt urgent action<p>Mchunu’s leave follows allegations that he interfered with sensitive investigations and colluded with businesspeople, one reportedly facing murder charges, to disband the Political Killings Task Team in KwaZulu-Natal.</p><p> <p> <p> <p> Read more </p> Police Minister Senzo Mchunu placed on leave of absence </p> </p> </p><p>“These allegations, if proven true, threaten to undermine the confidence of South Africans in the ability of the South African Police Service to protect them,” Ramaphosa warned.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The president said the commission, chaired by Acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, would probe the alleged facilitation of organised crime, manipulation of investigations, and the targeting of whistleblowers across law enforcement agencies.</p><p>Madlanga will be assisted by Advocates Sesi Baloyi SC and Sandile Khumalo SC. The inquiry is expected to produce interim reports within three and six months, with a final report to follow.</p>New acting police minister appointed<p>In the interim, Ramaphosa has appointed Professor Firoz Cachalia as acting Minister of Police. Cachalia, who previously served as Gauteng’s MEC for Community Safety, is currently chair of the National Anti-Corruption Advisory Council.</p><p>Until Cachalia assumes duties in August, an acting minister from within the Cabinet will be announced.</p><p> </p><p>“It is critical that these matters be attended to with the necessary urgency and thoroughness,” Ramaphosa said.</p><p>“We will ensure that the Saps continue to function without hindrance.”</p><p>The Commission is expected to complete its work and submit a final report to the President. 3206210	有图 <p></p><p>Grace Kim’s first major win will go down as one of the greatest heists in golf history after the 24-year-old Australian played not one but two miracle shots to win the Evian Championship in France at the second play-off hole.</p><p>Kim teed off on the final hole with the tournament out of her reach. It looked to be a momentary stay of proceedings when Kim’s second shot at the first play-off went way right and out of bounds. Forced to take a drop, Kim was playing her fourth shot from off the green and needing to chip in to make birdie and stay in the tournament.</p><p>The look on Kim’s face made it obvious she didn’t like her chances of making a second miracle shot within 15 minutes. She chipped in hope and the ball rolled in for birdie as a disbelieving Thitikul looked on from beside the green. After saying the wrong thing in using a homophobic slur in round 17, he felt he had to do the right thing, and dobbed himself in. He did it knowing he would get banned. He is not a hero for that, nor is he the victim, but he at the very least tried to be better.</p><p>This incident might have gone nowhere had Graham not reported what he said to the Eagles. The Giants were aware of the incident, but assumed the AFL was too because they also assumed the umpires heard it. The AFL, once it knew about it, acted.</p><p>The AFL, sadly, had a relatively recent precedent to guide them in what to do next. Gold Coast’s Wil Powell used the same slur as Graham when he called someone a “f---ing f----t” last year and got a five-match ban. Powell was mortified by what he had said, especially given his two brothers are gay. Nor was Patterson’s estranged husband, Simon Patterson, whose parents did not survive the meal.</p><p>Instead, Joyce Fleming led the 10.30am service and told the congregation that it had been “an eventful and emotional week”.</p><p>Erin Patterson moved from atheism to Christianity when she met her husband, and had attended the Korumburra Baptist Church for years. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese explicitly said he did not want the report to be politicised.</p><p>In a statement, Segal said she had no influence on the donations made by Roth’s trust. “No one would tolerate or accept my husband dictating my politics, and I certainly won’t dictate his. I have had no involvement in his donations, nor will I,” she said.</p><p>ASIC documents show Henroth Investments Pty Ltd is co-directed by Stanley and John Roth. AEC donation records state the company lodged its donation return on behalf of Henroth Discretionary Trust.</p><p>The company has also previously given money to the Liberal Party.
